Museum of Fine Arts Ghent (MSK)

The museum is housed in a listed building from the early 1900s. Several authentic period rooms are available for meetings and events: the spacious Forum, the recently refurbished Auditorium, the charming Hemicycle, the covered Patio... And why not book an exclusive late-night opening so your guests can discover the MSK’s collections? You can even rent some of the exhibition rooms and organize your meeting or event among the masterpieces. Imagine welcoming visitors below ‘The Human Passions’, a relief by the sculptor Jef Lambeaux featuring vivid depictions of nudity (it caused quite a stir when it was unveiled around 1900). Smaller break-out rooms are available, too. All rooms are fitted with state-of-the-art sound and lighting. The museum’s on-site brasserie is happy to offer catering for your event.

The MSK is part of a lively museum district, which also includes pioneering contemporary arts museum S.M.A.K., an attractive city museum, a brand-new university museum and a freely accessible botanic garden. Nearby Citadel Park is a nice spot for an al fresco lunch.
Just a short walk away is Ghent’s pedestrian-friendly historic city centre (the largest in Belgium, in fact). Stroll along cobbled streets, pop into lively bars and restaurants, or visit the city’s many landmarks – such as St Bavo’s Cathedral, where you’ll discover Van Eyck’s Altarpiece in an amazing new exhibition.
