Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp
Are you looking for a unique historic congress setting, combined with stellar standards in hospitality, gastronomy, lodgings, and meeting and event facilities? You might just be looking for Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp.
Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is a recently renovated medieval site in the centre of Antwerp. As the name suggests, its historic buildings are centred around a large garden – a green gem right in the middle of a buzzing, cosmopolitan city. Surprisingly, the site houses the largest congress centre of Antwerp, with flexible, cosy salons as well as grand, imposing auditoriums. The venue is fit for congresses, events, product launches, incentives, brainstorms, and much, much more. It is equipped with state-of-the art meeting facilities such as interpreters’ booths and air purifiers. The service and catering are extremely high-level, but if you prefer to dine out, there are no less than four restaurants on the site that are led by Michelin-starred chefs. (And just around the corner, there are another two!) Should you wish to stay the night, the five-star Botanic Sanctuary Hotel offers 108 superior rooms and suites in the historic buildings.
Make a lasting impression on your attendees
The site goes back to the year 1238, when the St-Elisabeth Hospital was moved here. Throughout the centuries, it kept on growing and developing. Important additions are the early 15th-century chapel – which has been converted to a gorgeous event space – the gothic infirmaries and the early 17th-century monastery and vicarage. But at the heart of it all is the botanic garden, established by the hospital to provide food and medicinal herbs for its patients. One of the keepers of the garden was Peeter van Couwenberghe, a celebrated 16th-century botanist who cultivated exotic plants and is credited with the invention of the orangery. In the 1900s, the site fell into disrepair, until it was repurposed as a hotel in the 1990s. Now, after a thorough renovation project, it has become Botanic Sanctuary, a luxurious place where life can be enjoyed to the fullest. Congresses or events hosted here are sure to make a lasting impression on your attendees.
